Personal information


Carlo Alberto Bentivoglio was born in Macerata (Italy) in 1970. He received his MS Eng. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ancona in 1996.

In 1997 he started to work with the local branch of the main italian small business association collaborating also with the local Chamber of Commerce in some economic developing projects.

In 1999 he was invited to join the local Y2K italian government technical committee to analyze and prevent the possible risks of "millenium bug".

He joined the University of Macerata in 2004 where he worked in the field of e-learning technologies and contributed to the foundation of CELFI (the center devoted to the e-learning activities for the University of Macerata which has won the EU UNIQUE quality award for e-learning in 2009).

In 2005 he became anonymous referee of European Journal of Operation Research and in the same year was teacher at the Master "Projecting, building and management of on-line learning environment" held by the University of Macerata.

In 2008 he published with Aldo Caldarelli the book "Tecnologie multimediali - audio e video" and, in the academic years 2007/08 and 2008/09, was a teacher in the Streaming Media course, held by the faculty of Education Science, for italian and Erasmus students.

In 2009 he started attending the E-learning and Knowledge Management doctorate course at University of Macerata. During this year he partecipated to HSI'09 and ISDA'09 IEEE international conference as relator and, in the case of ISDA'09, also as anonymous referee. By the end of the year, he joined the reviewer panel of British Journal of Education Technology.

In 2012 he got the PhD in E-learning and Knowledge Management at University of Macerata.
